Description:

The legend storyteller of The Catcher in the Rye is an antiquated offspring of sixteen, a local New Yorker named Holden Caulfield. Through conditions that will in general block grown-up, used portrayal, he leaves his private academy in Pennsylvania and goes underground in New York City for three days. The kid himself is on the double excessively basic and unreasonably complex for us to offer any last remark about him or his story. Maybe the most secure thing we can say about Holden is that he was conceived on the planet emphatically pulled in to excellence as well as, nearly, miserably pierced on it. There are numerous voices in this novel: youngsters' voices, grown-up voices, underground voices-yet Holden's voice is the most articulate of all.

Rising above his own vernacular, yet remaining wonderfully devoted to it, he gives a flawlessly verbalized cry of blended agony and joy. Be that as it may, as most darlings and comedians and writers of the higher requests, he keeps the greater part of the agony to, and for, himself. The delight he parts with, or saves, with everything that is in him. It is there for the peruser who can deal with it to keep.

J.D. Salinger's exemplary novel of high school anxiety and insubordination was first distributed in 1951. The epic was remembered for Time's 2005 rundown of the 100 best English-language books composed since 1923.

It was named by Modern Library and its perusers as one of the 100 best English-language books of the twentieth century. It has been often tested in the court for its liberal utilization of obscenity and depiction of sexuality and in the 1950's and 60's it was the novel that each young kid needs to peruse.
